Nomi Stone is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas in the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology. She holds an MFA in Poetry from Warren Wilson College (2017), a PhD in Anthropology from Columbia University (2016), an MPhil in Middle Eastern Studies from Oxford University (2006), and a BA in French Literature from Dartmouth College (2003).
Her research explores intersections of creative writing, anthropology, and militarism, focusing on documentary poetics and American empire. Stone's award-winning work includes poetry collections examining war and cultural encounters across the Middle East and America.
She teaches cross-disciplinary courses bridging creative writing, literature, and anthropology, encouraging hybrid methodologies and experimental forms of ethnographic representation.
