Dr. Ning Tang is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Sheffield Hallam University, affiliated with the College of Social Sciences and Arts and the Department of Sociology. She holds a PhD from the University of Aberdeen (2000) and has been active in academia since completing her doctorate. Her research focuses on gender, transnational education, and work-family dynamics, often adopting comparative and international perspectives.

Research Interests: Dr. Tang explores gender and work, transnational education policies, and women’s leadership in higher education. She has led projects on international student mobility, global higher education partnerships, and work-life balance in diverse cultural contexts.

Teaching & Supervision: Director of PhD Studies since 2008, supervising over 10 doctoral projects. Current topics include work-family conflicts in academia and gender barriers in Syrian university leadership.
Affiliations: Visiting Professor at Yangzhou University and invited lecturer at the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (2018–2023).
