Norman Stockman is an Emeritus Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen, affiliated with the School of Social Science. His work bridges sociology and Chinese Studies, focusing on gender, social inequality, and theoretical sociological frameworks. He authored seminal works like Understanding Chinese Society (2000) and Women's Work in East and West (1995), and contributed to collaborative projects on migration and comparative family studies in China, Japan, and Europe.
