Ning Baines

Ning Baines is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Leicester Castle Business School, De Montfort University. She holds a PhD in Innovation Management from Birkbeck, University of London, alongside master's degrees in Marketing and E-Business/Innovation. Her career spans roles in financial services (Standard Chartered Bank), cultural marketing (British Council), and academic research, including sessions at UCL, LSE, and Queen Mary. She specializes in innovation management, university spin-offs, and regional economic development.

Education: BSc English Literature (Chulalongkorn University), MSc Marketing (Middlesex University), MSc E-Business & Innovation (Birkbeck), PhD Innovation Management (Birkbeck).

Research focuses on new product/service innovation in spin-off firms and start-ups, with notable contributions to journals like Strategic Change, Regional Studies, and Journal of Knowledge Management. Her work explores regional policies' impact on high-tech clusters, university-industry collaboration, and entrepreneurship dynamics.
