Nigel Walton is a Senior Lecturer in Strategy and Innovation at the School of Strategy, Marketing and Innovation (SMI) within the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Portsmouth. His research focuses on strategic innovation, platform and digital disruption, and artificial intelligence (AI), particularly AI adoption in organizations. He has contributed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through work related to AI readiness and digital ecosystems.
Education: He completed his doctoral thesis, "The Extent to Which Data-Rich Firms Operating Two-Sided Platform-Ecosystem Business Models Are Able to Use Data to Gain an Innovation Advantage Over Established One-Sided Companies," in 2018 under the supervision of Dr. Zafar Khan.
