Nigar Taşpınar

Asst. Prof. Dr. Nigar Taşpınar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Banking and Finance at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), North Cyprus. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from EMU (2016), an MSc in Banking and Finance (2011), and a BSc in Banking and Finance (2010), all from EMU. Her roles include teaching courses like Financial Modeling, Applied Financial Statistics, and Volatility in Finance. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Business and Economics, with research interests in Financial Management, Energy and Environmental Economics, and Applied Econometrics.

Her research focuses on environmental Kuznets curves, energy finance, and financial development impacts. She has served as a reviewer for prestigious journals and co-edits the Eurasian Review of Business and Finance. Recent studies examine oil/gold spillovers on stock markets, Twitter-based uncertainty effects, and volatility linkages between cryptocurrencies and energy firms. She has authored/co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed papers in journals like Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews and Science of the Total Environment.
