Dr. Nicole Busch serves as a Lecturer for User Experience Research at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts in Kiel, where she teaches methods of human-centered research and design. She also teaches ergonomics at Burg Giebiechenstein University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Halle.
Dr. Busch completed her academic journey with a banking apprenticeship, biology studies, and ultimately earned her doctorate in Kiel and Delft specializing in design engineering with focus on applied ergonomics and design. Her educational background bridges practical business experience with scientific research methodology.
As a recognized expert in her field, Dr. Busch's research spans user experience research, ergonomics, and design across multiple sectors. Her expertise encompasses product, service, and interface design with particular knowledge in consumer goods, household appliances, telecommunications and media, sports and leisure, medical technology, and mobility. She has conducted studies and workshops for major companies including Adidas, Design 3, and Xing.
Since 2007, Dr. Busch has operated her own consultancy 'buschwerk,' building on her previous professional experience which includes three years as an ergonomics specialist at designaffairs, four years as a human factors researcher and project manager at IDEO across multiple international offices (Munich, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Chicago, Boston, and London), and project management at Trendbüro in Hamburg.
