Nicola Fuchs-Schündeln is President of the WZB Berlin Social Science Center and Professor of Macroeconomics at Goethe University Frankfurt. She holds a PhD in economics from Yale University and has served as an assistant professor at Harvard University. She received an honorary doctorate from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg in 2023.
Her research spans inequality, labor markets, fiscal policy, preference formation, social mobility, and growth. She employs natural experiments and empirical methods to analyze post-communist transitions, cultural determinants of economic behavior, and household decision-making under uncertainty.
