Nick Light is Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Oregon, examining consumer perceptions of simplicity and complexity in decision-making contexts. His research explores public understanding of science, knowledge calibration, and marketing communication effectiveness.
Current projects investigate anti-scientific attitudes, misinformation impacts during crises, and consumer responses to brand positioning strategies. Recent work demonstrates links between knowledge overconfidence and rejection of scientific consensus.
Teaching includes Digital Marketing Analytics and Marketing Management courses recognized for practical skill development. Research recognized as 2022 Mary Kay Dissertation Award Finalist.
