Nicholas Barbato

Nicholas Barbato is a Lecturer in Studio Composition at the Conservatory of Music, Purchase College, where he contributes to the academic and creative development of students. As a guitarist, bandleader, and composer, he actively bridges his professional music career with pedagogy.

His work emphasizes modern, adventurous techniques and interdisciplinary influences, exemplified by his album Every Day is a Bad Hair Day, which received critical acclaim for its innovative fusion of styles.

Barbato collaborates with prominent musicians like Jon Irabagon, Paul Shaffer, and Andy Hess, and performs with bands such as Rebecca Haviland and Whiskey Heart, Salcedo’s Latin Soul, and Lost Soul Found.
