About
Neil Voss is an Associate Professor of Biology at Roosevelt University within the College of Science, Health and Pharmacy. He actively contributes to multiple graduate programs including the Master’s in Bioinformatics & Computational Biology (MS), Master’s in Biomedical Sciences (MA), Master’s in Biotechnology (MS), and Master’s in Integrated Biomedical Sciences (MS).
His research spans Biochemistry, Genetics, and Molecular Biology with specialized focus on Cryo-Electron Microscopy and Protein Structure analysis. He is a prominent developer of Open Educational Resources (OER), creating freely accessible biology problem sets through the Biology Problems OER platform while developing computational tools for structural biology research.
Scientific awards: None documented in available sources.
As a grant-funded OER developer, Dr. Voss has secured research funding for educational technology projects including software tools for 3D Electron Microscopy analysis. He advises graduate students across Roosevelt University's biology-related master's programs and maintains active collaborations in computational biology.
He leads the vosslab research group focused on protein geometry software development and serves as a member of NILTC. His interdisciplinary work bridges biology education with computational tool development, including notable contributions to CryoEM analysis software and educational assessment systems.
