Neil Saintilan is a Professor of Environmental Sciences at Macquarie University, affiliated with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the Macquarie University Marine Research Centre. His research focuses on climate change impacts on wetlands, particularly coastal mangroves and freshwater systems, emphasizing carbon sequestration ('blue carbon') and water management strategies. Collaborations include ANSTO, US Geological Survey, and Beijing Forestry University.
