Dr Neil Melvin is a Research Fellow and Director of International Security Studies at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI). He holds a DPhil from Oxford University and has held senior roles at institutions including SIPRI (Director of Research), the OSCE, the European Union, and the United Nations. His research focuses on emerging international security dynamics in key global regions such as Europe/Eurasia, the Gulf/Middle East, East Africa/the Horn, and the Indo-Pacific. He has been affiliated with King's College London's Department of War Studies and has served as a Visiting Fellow at Harvard University and the London School of Economics.
