About
Neetu Gupta, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Medicine at Case Western Reserve University's School of Medicine and a Member of the Immune Oncology Program at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms regulating B cell activation in antibody-mediated immunity and B cell lymphoma pathogenesis. She investigates how B cells dynamically reorganize their membrane and actin cytoskeleton to facilitate immune functions, with a particular emphasis on the role of Ezrin, a membrane-cytoskeleton linker protein. Key contributions include discovering Ezrin's role in B cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and antibody production, as well as its involvement in autoimmunity, inflammation, and cancer.
Dr. Gupta's work employs high-resolution live cell imaging, quantitative systems biology, and genetic mouse models. She holds an external appointment as Associate Staff in the Department of Inflammation and Immunity at the Lerner Research Institute, Cleveland Clinic. Her research bridges basic immunology with clinical applications in cancer and autoimmune diseases.
