Neeloffer Mookherjee

Dr. Neeloffer Mookherjee is a **Professor** in the **Department of Internal Medicine** at the **Max Rady College of Medicine**, University of Manitoba. She holds a cross-appointment in the Department of Immunology and is the **CIHR Sex and Gender Science Chair in Respiratory Health**. Her research focuses on chronic inflammation, particularly asthma and arthritis, and the role of host defense peptides like LL-37 in immunomodulation. She integrates sex-based analyses into her work and explores environmental exposures such as air pollution. Dr. Mookherjee leads the **Mookherjee Lab** at the Manitoba Center for Proteomics & Systems Biology and chairs **WISDOM**, an initiative promoting women in science.

**Education**: PhD in Microbiology (University of Victoria, 2001), postdoctoral training at the University of British Columbia and Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization.
