Neel Baumgardner

Neel Baumgardner, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of History at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) within the College of Liberal and Fine Arts. His research focuses on transnational environmental history, emphasizing the development and protection of international parks along the Canada-U.S. and Mexico-U.S. borders.

Dr. Baumgardner teaches courses in American Studies and history, with a particular emphasis on environmental and borderlands history. His current book project, Unbordering North America, examines collaborative park creation in Waterton-Glacier (Alberta-Montana) and Big Bend-Maderas del Carmen (Texas-Coahuila) regions.
