Natasha Farny is Professor of Cello at the School of Music at the State University of New York in Fredonia. A dedicated performer and educator, she has recorded multiple albums including 'French Music for Cello and Piano' and performs with the Ekstasis Duo. Her research focuses on promoting music by women composers, with conference presentations on female composers internationally.
Her research interests center on expanding the classical repertoire through rediscovery of works by women composers and pedagogical innovations for string education. Farny maintains an active performance schedule, having premiered Avner Dorman's Double Concerto and performed at venues including Merkin Hall and Strings Music Festival.
Professor Farny has taught at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival since 2007 and has been appointed to festivals internationally including in Maryland, Colorado, Alaska, and Maine.
