Natalija Jonić

Natalija Jonić is a Researcher at the Department of Immunology, Institute for Biological Research 'Siniša Stanković', University of Belgrade.

Education:

• PhD in Immunobiology (2020), Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade
• MSc in Immunobiology (2019-2020), Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade
• BSc in Molecular Biology & Physiology (2015-2019), Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade

Research Interests: Natalija Jonić's research focuses on immunology with particular emphasis on autoimmune diseases and type 1 diabetes. Her work investigates regulatory T cells, innate lymphoid cells, and the role of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor in modulating immune responses. She also studies intestinal immunity and the immunological importance of the intestinal microenvironment, including gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT).

Volunteer Activities: Natalija participates in science outreach activities including European Researchers' Night, FENS, The Science Fair, conference 'Forever curious – with science for the future', Science Day in Serbia, and Brain Awareness Week. She has also attended workshops on science communication organized by the Center for the Promotion of Science.
