About
Ivan Pilipović serves as a Principal Research Fellow at the Department of Immunology, Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković", a National Institute of the Republic of Serbia affiliated with University of Belgrade.
His academic foundation includes a degree in molecular biology and physiology from University of Belgrade-Faculty of Biology (2004) and a PhD in neuroendocrine immunology (2012) completed under Professor Gordana Leposavić's research group at the Immunology Research Centre "Branislav Janković".
Dr. Pilipović's primary research investigates how β- and α-adrenoceptors mediate catecholamine influence on T-cell immune functions across developmental stages. His work spans thymic T-cell development, immune responses in lymphoid organs, and effector responses in target tissues, with particular emphasis on sex-specific differences in age-related immune changes. This neuroimmunological research bridges endocrinology and immunology to understand nervous system regulation of immune responses.
He actively participates in the Immunological Society of Serbia, Serbian Society for Molecular Biology, and Serbian Biochemical Society. Since 2022, he has directed the flow cytometry cell sorting unit, demonstrating advanced technical expertise in immunological methodologies.
His scholarly output includes one book chapter and seventy peer-reviewed scientific publications, establishing him as a significant contributor to immunological research in Serbia.
