Narayanan Parameswaran

Narayanan Parameswaran is a Professor in the Department of Physiology at Michigan State University, with concurrent faculty appointments in the Genetics & Genome Sciences Program and Cell & Molecular Biology Program.

• Research Interests: Innate immunity, inflammation, and cell signaling mechanisms in gut and bone pathophysiology, with a focus on GPCR regulators (arrestins and GRKs) in inflammatory diseases (sepsis, IBD) and cross-talk between gut microbiota and bone health.
• Collaborative Work: Co-investigator with Dr. McCabe’s lab studying gut-bone axis modulation via probiotics in menopause and diabetes models.
• Publication Trends: Recent work explores probiotic interventions for glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis, molecular mechanisms of arrestin/GRKs in inflammation, and microbiome effects on bone loss.
