Dr Nandor Marczin serves as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery & Cancer at Imperial College London's Faculty of Medicine and as honorary consultant in Adult Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust. He directs clinical academic training in anaesthesia and coordinates the Perioperative Medicine module for the BSc in Surgery and Anaesthesia.

His research investigates molecular mechanisms of perioperative inflammation and metabolic derangements, emphasizing real-time bedside diagnostics and novel therapies. Current projects span ageing/frailty in cardiac surgery, exhaled breath analysis (nitric oxide, VOCs), inhaled nitric oxide therapy, ex vivo organ reconditioning, and minimally invasive lung transplantation, integrating cellular models, animal studies, and clinical applications.

As program director, Dr Marczin leads anaesthesia academic training while conducting research at Heart Science Centre, Harefield Hospital, including collaborations with Prof Takata on inflammatory responses in high-risk surgeries and transplantation.
