Nancy L. Guo

Nancy L. Guo is the SUNY Empire Innovation Professor in the School of Computing at Binghamton University's Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science. She leads multidisciplinary AI research, holds over $45.5 million in federal funding as PI/PD, and has produced 61 peer-reviewed publications with 3,800+ citations. Her work focuses on advancing precision medicine through AI, bioinformatics, and molecular diagnostics.

Research & Contributions: Her innovations include 14 FDA-recognized patents on cancer drugs and diagnostic assays, and software with 46,000+ visits. She directed the Biomedical Informatics Resources Core (2009–2017), fostering statewide collaboration, and currently leads an NSF PFI-RP project for AI-driven cancer treatment.

Grants & Mentorship: PI for NIH R01 grants and NSF awards. Mentored 48 postdocs, MDs, and students, many of whom won national awards. Served as grant review panel chair for DOD and NCI lung cancer research.

Labs & Initiatives: Founded the West Virginia Clinical & Translational Science Institute’s informatics core. Active in academic-industry partnerships for clinical AI commercialization.
