Nancy Eaton

Nancy Eaton is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Rhode Island (URI), affiliated with the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematical Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences. She currently serves as the Advisor Coordinator for the department and contributes to URI's Online Graduate Certificate and Masters program in data science as a course developer and instructor. Her academic career spans roles such as Associate Dean (2014-2017) and Department Chair (2008-2014) at URI.

Research Interests: Eaton specializes in Graph Theory within Combinatorics, with additional contributions to Data Science education. Her work bridges theoretical mathematics and applied computational methods.

Advising: She has advised 9 PhD students, including Addie Armstrong (2016), Caitlin Phifer (2014), and Tom Hull (1997), shaping research in discrete mathematics.

Personal: A native of South Kingstown, RI, Eaton balances her academic pursuits with sailing, leveraging physics and weather dynamics in her hobby. She has two children based in Providence and Houston.
