Nancy Aleo

Nancy Aleo is a Professor at Massachusetts College of Art's Studio Foundation Department, where she served as Department Chair (2008-2016) and Form Study Program Chair (2023-2024). Her cross-disciplinary practice spans mixed media, ceramics, and sound performances with resonant instruments, informed by spiritual practices and decades of research in Mexico.

Research interests focus on harmonic therapies, site-specific sound installations, and intercultural artistic dialogue, with exhibitions in France, Italy, Japan, and across the United States.

Awards include multiple NEA Regional Fellowships, MassArt Faculty Fellowships, and international residencies. Her community engagement includes leadership at Attleboro Arts Museum and therapeutic sound work for AIDS vigils and public art responses.
