Nancy A. Khalil

Nancy A. Khalil is an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, affiliated with the Department of American Culture and the Marsal Family School of Education. She serves as Core Faculty in the Arab and Muslim American Studies (AMAS) program and as a Faculty Affiliate with the Global Islamic Studies Center, Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education, Diversity Scholars Network, and Harvard University's Pluralism Project.

• PhD in Anthropology from Harvard University

Her research focuses on the anthropology of religion, Muslim communities, racialization processes, and ethnographic methodologies, with additional interests in Islamic authority, sociocultural bureaucracy, and advertising/media studies. She contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives through her affiliations and advisory roles.
