Nancy A. Heitzeg

Dr. Nancy A. Heitzeg is a Professor of Sociology, Gender and Women's Studies, and Critical Studies of Race and Ethnicity. She serves as Director of the Critical Studies of Race/Ethnicity Program and holds an Endowed Chair in the Sciences. Her research focuses on intersections of race, class, gender, and social control, particularly addressing systemic issues like the school-to-prison pipeline and mass incarceration. She co-edits the online series Criminal InJustice, aimed at public education and advocacy on criminal justice reform.
