Nalo Hamilton is an Associate Professor at the UCLA School of Nursing and serves as the Associate Dean for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry (Meharry Medical College, 2003) and an MSN in Nursing (Vanderbilt University, 2005). Her research focuses on the insulin-like growth factor (IGF) pathway’s role in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), particularly exploring interactions between IGF2, androgen receptors, and estrogen receptor-β. Her work bridges molecular biology and clinical translation, addressing health disparities in women’s oncology.
Dr. Hamilton is affiliated with the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and serves on editorial boards for journals such as the Clinical Journal of Oncology and Journal of Women’s Health. Her honors include the NPWH Inspirations in Women’s Health Research Award (2018) and the Anna Gawlinski Research Scholar (2019).
