Nadia Bozak is Associate Professor of English at Carleton University, where she coordinates the Creative Writing Concentration. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Toronto and is the author of three novels: 'Thirteen Shells' (2016), 'El Niño' (2016), and 'Orphan Love' (2008), as well as the film theory monograph 'The Cinematic Footprint: Lights, Camera, Natural Resources.' Her creative and academic work examines climate change, sustainability, and cultural representations of resource extraction.
Bozak's teaching includes introductory creative writing, fiction workshops, and courses on writing about the climate crisis. Her forthcoming novel 'Toy Boats' (ECW Press, 2026) explores climate change and car culture. Recent publications include the essay 'Digital Images: The Cost of Resource Extraction' in the exhibition catalogue for 'Mining Photography: The Ecological Footprint of Resource Extraction.'
