About
Mª Jesús Pascual is a Tenured Researcher at the Institute of Ceramics and Glass (ICV) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). Her work focuses on glass and glass-ceramic materials for energy applications, biomedical engineering, and photonics. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2000) and has held postdoctoral positions at institutions in Germany, Brazil, Portugal, and Spain.
Her research interests include glass sealing materials for high-temperature devices, nanocrystalline glass-ceramics for photonic applications, and the thermal and mechanical properties of advanced ceramics. She has led multiple national and international projects, including EU-funded initiatives like Intercony (FP6) and FunGLASS (H2020).
Dr. Pascual has authored 95+ SCI publications (H-index 27), directed six PhD theses, and served on organizing committees for major conferences like the International Symposium on Crystallization in Glasses and Liquids (2017). She is a member of the International Commission on Glass (ICG) and the Spanish Society of Ceramics and Glass (SECV).
Her awards include the 2010 Gottardi Prize from the ICG. Current projects involve developing sustainable materials from industrial waste and optimizing glass-ceramic compositions for energy storage systems.
