Mustafa Guzel serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Pharmacology at the International School of Medicine, Medipol University. He is also a researcher at Medipol University's REMER (Restorative and Regenerative Medicine Research Center) within the Molecular Discovery & Development Group.
Dr. Guzel's research focuses on medical pharmacology with particular emphasis on molecular discovery, drug development processes, and regenerative medicine applications. His work bridges the gap between laboratory research and clinical applications, particularly in the field of cancer therapeutics.
Recently, Dr. Guzel traveled to the United States to establish international research collaborations. During this visit, he presented a seminar titled "Story of a benchmark drug from discovery perspective" at Winston Salem State University in North Carolina, where he detailed the discovery and development stages of a cancer drug with approximately $1.2 billion in worldwide annual sales.
The seminar attracted significant academic interest, with attendees including department heads from Biology and Chemistry departments, faculty members, and undergraduate/graduate students.
Dr. Guzel is actively working to expand international research partnerships, particularly between Medipol University and institutions in the United States, focusing on collaborative research initiatives in pharmacology and regenerative medicine.
