Dr Muhammad Usman serves as a Lecturer at the Institute of Innovation, Science and Sustainability (IISS) of Federation University, based at the Mt Helen campus in Room T155 since 2019.
His academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Systems from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. Prior to his current role, he held postdoctoral research positions at Swinburne University of Technology and served as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Technology Sydney.
Dr Usman's research spans cybersecurity with specific emphases on security and privacy frameworks, machine learning applications, quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE) optimization, video processing and streaming technologies, and the Internet of Multimedia Things. His work integrates machine learning to enhance security protocols and multimedia delivery systems in networked environments.
He instructs courses in Mobile Technologies, Cybersecurity, Multimedia Processing, and Computer and Communication Networks, reflecting his dual expertise in theoretical and applied information technology domains.
