Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz is a Vice Chancellor's Research Fellow at Teesside University's Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre, affiliated with the School of Computing, Engineering & Digital Technologies. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (2019), an MSc from KTH Royal Institute of Technology (2011), and a BSc from the University of the Punjab (2008). His research focuses on net-zero technologies, including green hydrogen production, CO₂ capture, thermochemical conversion of biomass/plastic wastes, and circular economy frameworks. He has led projects funded by REHIP, Qatar Foundation, and others, with over 80 publications (including 5 book chapters) and an H-index of 35. His work spans experimental research (lab-to-pilot scale) and process modeling. He currently serves as Guest Editor for journals like Fuel and Discover Environment.
