Dr. Muhammad Algarhy is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Management department at Rawls College of Business, Texas Tech University. With over 25 years of combined professional and academic experience spanning four countries, he specializes in entrepreneurship within resource-constrained environments. Dr. Algarhy holds a PhD in Business Administration from Texas Tech University, an MBA from ESLSCA Group (France), and a BSc in Civil Engineering from Fayoum University.
His research examines emancipatory, necessity, and social entrepreneurship through cognitive and psychological approaches. Current projects explore how entrepreneurship can empower disadvantaged communities and transform entrepreneurs themselves. Teaching interests include experiential learning methods and cognitive approaches to course design.
Dr. Algarhy has received multiple awards including the AT&T Graduate Fellowship and won Egypt's National Business Plan Competition with a $200,000 government grant. He co-founded two successful startups (BasharSoft and Dominos Media) and mentors students in entrepreneurial ventures.
