Dr. Muge Cevik is a clinical academic in infectious diseases and medical virology at the University of St Andrews, School of Medicine, Infection and Global Health Division. She serves as an Honorary Specialist Registrar in Infectious Diseases and Medical Virology at NHS LOTHIAN since 2016.
Her research focuses on HIV, tuberculosis, tropical infections, and emerging infections including Covid-19. During the pandemic, she provided scientific advice to the Chief Medical Officer of Scotland, served on NERVTAG advising UK-SAGE, and consulted with WHO on risk communication. She coordinates international studies on Covid-19 through ISARIC and leads household transmission research in Scotland.
Dr. Cevik's research spans infectious disease epidemiology, clinical trials, and public health policy.
