Stephanie Richard

Stephanie Richard is an Assistant Professor affiliated with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences through the Infectious Disease Clinical Research Program (IDCRP). Her research focuses on infectious disease epidemiology, with particular emphasis on coronavirus (including SARS-CoV-2 pathogenesis and COVID-19 complications), influenza immunology, pediatric infections, and public health surveillance methodologies. She collaborates extensively on military health studies and multicenter cohort research.

Her research encompasses viral pathogenesis, vaccine immunology, health disparities in military populations, and innovative public health surveillance techniques. Recent work analyzes hyperinflammatory responses in lethal COVID-19, vaccine efficacy comparisons, pediatric SARS-CoV-2 outcomes, and molecular detection methods using self-collected samples.

Dr. Richard maintains active collaborations with the EPICC COVID-19 Cohort Study Group and has contributed to research featured in prominent media outlets including Johns Hopkins Medicine. She utilizes multidisciplinary approaches spanning virology, immunology, epidemiology, and health informatics in her investigations of respiratory pathogens and disease outcomes.
