Monica Wendel is Associate Professor of English at St. Thomas Aquinas College, teaching creative writing, poetry, and literature courses. An award-winning poet, her collections include 'English Kills and Other Poems' and 'No Apocalypse' which received the Georgetown Review Poetry Prize.
Research examines representations of illness/disability in literature and ethical dimensions of children's/YA fiction. Current projects analyze how youth literature engages with social-political issues and empowers young readers. Previously taught therapeutic writing at healthcare facilities including Goldwater Hospital.
