Joseph Weil is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English, General Literature and Rhetoric at Binghamton University, teaching poetry and fiction at both graduate and undergraduate levels. He has published four full-length poetry volumes between 2008 and 2013, including The Great Grandmother Light (2013), which received critical acclaim from The American Reader and recognition as a top 2013 poetry collection by Sean Thomas Dougherty.
- Active performer with presentations at Geraldine R. Dodge poetry festivals (1992, 2002, 2008)
- Collaborated with poets like Stephen Dunn and musicians including Academy Award-winning composer Earl Robinson
- Editorial roles: Fiction editor of Ragazine, founder of Monk Books, current publisher of Cat in the Sun Press
His work appears in Best American Poems, New York Times, and Boston Review, among 30+ venues. A 2014 CD collaboration and theater production West of Home (with his wife) are upcoming projects.
