Monica Johnson

Monica Johnson is a Lecturer in the Preparatory Dance Program at UNCSA, teaching ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary. An NDEO-certified instructor with ABT credentials, she integrates professional performance experience into dance education.

Her teaching methodology emphasizes technical foundations across multiple genres including African and hip-hop fusion styles. Johnson founded Monica & Jerome International Dance Experience and previously taught at Washington Ballet and Duke Ellington School of the Arts.
