Mohammed Beyad is a Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Glasgow's Department of Political & International Studies. His research focuses on Middle East politics, postcolonial International Relations theory, and imperialism's role in regional dynamics. He holds a PhD in International Relations (2020) from SOAS University of London, where his dissertation examined Iran-Iraq relations in the 1960s-70s. Previously, he served as a Senior Teaching Fellow at SOAS and a Lecturer in International Development at King's College London.

Research interests include South-South political dynamics, post-colonial statebuilding, and critical approaches to Middle East studies. He has advised governments, private entities, and charities on Middle East affairs, particularly Iran and Israel-Palestine. He co-founded the Framing Race collective, analyzing empire, racism, and anti-racism in Britain. Teaching specialties span Middle East Studies, International Political Economy, and historical IR frameworks.
