Mohammad Dadashipour

Mohammad Dadashipour is a Lecturer in Biotechnology at Teesside University's SHLS Life Sciences, joining in early 2022. His expertise spans microbiology, enzyme engineering, and biocatalysis. He leads modules such as Life Science Research Project (SCI4013-N), Advanced Life Science Research Project (SCI4015-N), and Advanced Downstream Bioprocessing (SCI4051-N) for MSc Bioprocessing & Biotherapeutics. His research focuses on industrial biotechnology, enzyme discovery for biocatalysis, circular economy applications, and glycoengineering for vaccine development.

Academically, he holds a PhD in Biotechnology (2011) from Japan, specializing in enzyme engineering. His postdoctoral work included the ERATO Asano Project ($15M funded), exploring millipede enzymes for pharmaceutical applications, and senior research at Kyushu University on archaeal enzymes. He has secured research grants, including a $50k bioremediation grant early in his career. Dadashipour has supervised numerous students and contributed over 16 peer-reviewed publications, patents, and conference presentations globally.

His research interests emphasize enzyme engineering, protein solubility enhancement, and biomanufacturing. He is actively accepting PhD students in areas like thermostable enzymes, chitinase engineering, and biocatalysis for circular economy.
