Mitchell Bryan Lutch

Mitchell Bryan Lutch is an Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Wind Band Activities at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) since 2020. He oversees the WPI Concert Band, coaches chamber ensembles, and teaches conducting, music theory, aural skills, and performance practice. His leadership extends to organizing international tours, including an upcoming 2025 performance in Prague, and commissioning new works by prominent composers like Thomas O’Toole and Thomas Duffy.

He emphasizes practical and theoretical integration in training musicians, with a focus on community-building through events like the annual GO(A)T Talent Show, which he established in 2021 to reconnect the campus post-pandemic.

His collaborative career includes teaching partnerships with luminaries such as Frank Battisti, Donald Hunsburger, and Ellis Marsalis. He has presented at international conferences and concerts across the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, and Mexico, underscoring his global influence in music education and performance.
