Mitali Basak

Mitali Basak is an Early Career Researcher (Postdoctoral Research Associate) at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Adelaide, Australia. Her current research focuses on developing integrated microfluidic chips for personalized mRNA vaccine development under an MRFF-funded project. She collaborates with a team creating biosensing units for quality assurance in vaccine stages.

Dr. Basak holds a Ph.D. from IIT Guwahati, India, specializing in nanobiosensors for affordable healthcare. Her expertise spans plasmonic nanomaterials, biosensing technologies, point-of-care devices, electrochemistry, and computational modeling. Key research areas include non-invasive diagnostics for cervical cancer, urinary tract infections, and lipid biomarkers (cholesterol/triglycerides), alongside glucose/ketone monitoring.

Her work emphasizes translational research and innovation, aiming to integrate analytical technologies into real-world applications while contributing to science communication and mentorship. She is eligible to co-supervise Masters and PhD students.
