About
Associate Professor Mirko Poljak holds a PhD in Nanoelectronics from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), University of Zagreb, supervised by Professors T. Suligoj (FER) and K. L. Wang (UCLA). His research focuses on quantum-transport modeling of nanoscale devices, including graphene, 2D materials, and ultra-thin semiconductor structures. He has authored over 30 journal papers and 50 conference papers, cited over 700 times. Poljak completed a Fulbright Fellowship at UCLA's Device Research Lab (2011-2012) and research visits at Queen's University Belfast (2014-2015). He reviews for top journals like Nature Electronics and IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices.
His scientific awards include the Annual Science Award (2017), FER's World-Class Research Award (2016), and Fulbright Fellowship (2011). He is a Senior Member of IEEE and affiliated with MIPRO. Research interests span TCAD-based nanodevice simulation, topological superconductors for Majorana modes, and 2D material FETs. His work emphasizes atomistic quantum transport models for next-generation nanoelectronics.
