Dr. Miranda Campbell is an Associate Professor in the School of Creative Industries at Toronto Metropolitan University. She serves as the Graduate Program Director for the York/TMU Joint Graduate Program in Communication and Culture. Her research focuses on creative employment, youth culture, and small-scale creative practices, with a particular emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the creative industries. She holds a Ph.D. from McGill University, an MA from Concordia University, and a BA from the University of British Columbia.
Her research employs qualitative methods including phenomenological analysis, oral histories, and cultural mapping, alongside participatory action research and arts-based methodologies. Key areas of investigation include organizational structures in creative industries, cultural policy impacts, and emerging creative labor trends. Campbell is committed to bridging academic research with community engagement, collaborating with organizations like Rock Camp for Girls Montreal and WhipperSnapper Gallery.
