Professor Minoli Salgado is a Professor of International Writing at Manchester Metropolitan University (Manchester Met), where she co-leads the Centre for Migration and Postcolonial Studies (MAPS). Previously, she held a Professorship in English and co-directed the Centre for Colonial and Postcolonial Studies at the University of Sussex. Her research focuses on postcolonial literature, diasporic narratives, and the intersection of trauma, memory, and migration, particularly in South and Southeast Asia. She has authored award-winning critical and creative works, including Witness Literature (2025) and Twelve Cries from Home (2022). Salgado’s work is supported by prestigious fellowships like the Leverhulme and grants such as the AHRC. She has been honored with literary prizes and nominations, including the Orwell Prize and the DSC Prize.
