Milenko Prvački

Milenko Prvački is a distinguished Senior Fellow at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, where he has taught since 1994 and served as Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts for 17 years. Born in 1951 in Yugoslavia, he holds a Master of Fine Arts (Painting) from the Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Romania, and became a Singapore citizen in 2002. His international career spans over five decades with extensive exhibitions across Europe, Singapore, and globally.

Prvački's research explores comparative history, displacement, memory, visual dictionary, visual collections, and abstraction through painting and installation art. His artistic practice demonstrates a sustained investigation into how visual language constructs meaning across cultural boundaries.

His accolades include the prestigious Cultural Medallion Award from Singapore in 2012 and the Chevalier de L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from France in 2011, recognizing his transformative contributions to visual arts and cultural dialogue.

As an educator, Prvački supervises MA Fine Arts students and leads group critiques. He founded the Tropical Lab international postgraduate art camp and initiated editorial projects including Praxis Press and ISSUE. His leadership extends to organizing global symposiums and workshops, such as the Tao Hua Tan International Artist Retreat in China, fostering cross-cultural artistic exchange.
