Erzan Adam

Erzan Adam is a Lecturer with the McNally School of Fine Arts at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. He serves as Programme Leader for the Diploma in Fine Arts programme.

Education:

• Diploma in Fine Arts, LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts (recipient of Outstanding Student Award in Fine Arts)
• BA in Contemporary Arts, University of Tasmania (Dean's Roll of Excellence)
• MA in Fine Arts, LASALLE College of the Arts (conferred by The Open University, 2008)

Research Focus:

• Exploration of self-identity through abstraction
• Interplay between image and text
• Translation as artistic practice
• Concepts of dis/location and social responsibility

Artistic Recognition:

• Philip Morris Art Award (2001-2002)
• UOB Painting of the Year Award (2001)
• Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award (2006)

Recent Practice: Served as resident artist in OH! Open House's 2022-2023 Associate Artist Programme, developing social practice projects centered on Kampong Gelam's marginalized communities through illustrated risalah (narratives).
