Milani Barbara

Barbara Milani is a Full Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Trieste. Her research focuses on developing homogeneous catalysts for polymerization reactions, particularly ethylene/polar vinyl monomer copolymerization and CO/vinyl arene copolymerization. She coordinates Working Group 2 'CO_x activation' within COST Action CM1205 - CARISMA.

Professor Milani investigates molecular machinery for controlled polymer synthesis using palladium(II) complexes with nitrogen-donor ligands. Her work addresses challenges in synthesizing ethylene/polar monomer copolymers and developing stable catalysts for polyketone production. Research combines fundamental mechanistic studies with applications in sustainable materials science.
