Milan K. Sen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Department of Genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He serves as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery and Director of Orthopedic Trauma at NYC Health+Hospitals/Jacobi, a Level 1 Trauma Center in the Bronx. Dr. Sen holds leadership roles in residency and fellowship programs, including the Montefiore Orthopedic Residency Training Program and the Hospital for Special Surgery Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship. He earned his medical degree from McGill University, followed by residencies and fellowships in Orthopedic Surgery, Hand Surgery, and Trauma Surgery.
His research focuses on Orthopedic Trauma, Fragility Fractures, and Health Policy, with special expertise in scapular fractures, pelvic injuries, and geriatric fractures. He has received multiple teaching awards, including Teacher of the Year (2021) and the Dean’s Excellence Award (2011). Dr. Sen is actively involved in global health initiatives, volunteering with Doctors Without Borders and Orthopaedics Overseas in regions like Haiti, Vietnam, and Tibet.
He holds an Executive MBA/MS in Healthcare Leadership from Cornell University and is completing a MPH at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
