Kenneth A. Egol, MD is the Joseph E. Milgram Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, Vice Chair of Academic Affairs, and Chief of the Division of Orthopedic Trauma at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He specializes in musculoskeletal trauma, fracture healing, and geriatric hip fractures. Dr. Egol completed his MD at Upstate Medical University (1993), residency at Hospital for Joint Diseases (1998), and fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center (1999). He directs the orthopedic surgery residency program and focuses on improving patient outcomes through research and education.
His research examines fracture healing complications, surgical vs. nonsurgical interventions, and geriatric fragility fractures. Awards include Castle Connolly’s Top Doctor and three Teacher of the Year accolades. He leads clinical trials on pelvic fracture healing with abaloparatide and evaluates outcomes in distal femur fractures and shoulder arthroplasty.
